Self Compacting Concrete (SCC)

Self Compacting Concrete is defined as fresh Concrete which flows under its own weight and does not require any external vibrations to undergo compaction. Material used for Self Compacting Concrete 1.Cement : OPC 43 or OPC 53 can be used. 2.Aggregates : The size of the aggregates used for SCC design is limited to 20mm. If the congested reinforcement is utilized for structure than the aggregate size used can be in the range 10 to 12mm. Well graded aggregates either round or cubical shape are a best choice. Natural aggregates or manufactured aggregates (M- Sand) with a uniform grade used as a fine aggregate in SCC .
